I knew her through YouTube.
She became famous for covering Rihanna's song 'Umbella.'
Her mother is Japanese, originally from Kumamoto Prefecture.
Marie entered University of California Barkley, but decided to go into the Music industory.
It's really interesting to watch her video on YouTube. Some people say her pronounciation of umbrella was incorrect, but as the English language itself is so diverse, you can't just say her probnounciation is wrong. What about the word 'often' then?
In Britain, people pronounce the 't', but in America people drop the 't'.
So you can't just judge her pronouniation of 'umbrella' just because you only know American pronounciation.But actually, she was born and raised up in America, so her pronouciation can't be wrong. Then why do some people say her pronounciation is wrong? Is it racism or something???
Anyways, that's not the point what I want to talk here.
It's the lyrics.
The song 'Better off alone' , it says exactly what I felt when I decided to stop contacting a person. Well, this is quite a personal thing and that I'm not going to write it here but anyways, I think many of you have same experience. Here is the lyrics:
